SWIMMING POOL ENGINEER

 In 2002 Karen Simporis won a coveted award after training to be a Swimming Pool Engineer.

The Peter Horne Memorial Cup was awarded to Karen by the Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers for an outstanding paper on swimming pool chemistry.

"I was delighted to receive the award, especially as there are so few women in pool engineering," said Karen.

"I also achieved top marks in the construction paper and was runner up for the Filtration Shield."

She added" We are extremely Health and safety conscious at Henry House and always endeavour to maintain the highest possible standards. This is especially important because many of our swimmers are elderly, disabled or very young and therefore vulnerable. I think I am now probably the best qualified swimming pool proprietor in the area."
