WELCOME TO BABY SWIMMING AT HENRY HOUSE

Henry House aims to make your swimming lessons as enjoyable an experience as possible, enabling you

and your baby to achieve the most from your session.

Your baby can swim from birth in our Baby Hour  but we recommend that they are at least  8 weeks or 8 pounds for the Bubbles Club lessons.

NB NICE guidelines state that it is no longer necessary to wait until your baby has completed his/her immunisation programme before they start using public pools.

It is important that you leave at least 1 hour between feeding your baby and swimming as this significantly reduces the risk of posseting, vomiting or accidents in the pool.

Due to limited space we ask you to arrive at Henry House no more than 10 minutes before your lesson, giving you plenty of time to change both baby and yourself- wearing your costume under your clothes helps.

You will need towels for yourself and your baby and a spare to use as a changing mat on our changing tables.

You will also need a disposable swim nappy (available from Henry House), a nappy sack and a Happy Nappy to reduce the risk of accidents. Happy Nappies are a requirement and will be available when you arrive for your first lesson. (We reserve the right to refuse entry to inappropriately dressed babies.)

To avoid congestion we ask you to leave pushchairs in the garden or in reception.

Spectators by arrangement only as space is limited and may we remind you that older sibling cannot be left unattended or taken poolside for safety reasons. No cameras, camcorders or camera phones please. You are welcome to use these in private bookings.

If you or your baby are unwell, have a temperature, are on antibiotics or have an open wound you will be unable to swim.

Although we cannot offer catch-up lessons, a limited number of free practice sessions may be available by prior arrangement during the school holidays when Bubbles Club  swimming lessons are on a break. These sessions need to be booked and will not have a teacher present.

If you haven’t been to Henry House before we recommend that you bring your baby to 1 or 2 Parent and baby sessions (£10.00 )please see Baby Hour on our timetable- prior to starting with The Bubbles Club. This will help you familiarise you and your baby  with the pool etc  so you can be as relaxed as possible  and get the most out of your first lesson. And as you progress with your lessons you may also be interested in Bubblepix, our underwater photography sessions. These are run independently of the classes and are generally available in the school half terms.
