All of our swimming lessons at Henry House last for 25 minutes, have a maximum of 5 pupils in a class with the fully insured and qualified teacher in the pool to encourage and assist at all stages from babies right through to nervous adults.
All children must be accompanied by an adult in the water unless they have been identified as a strong swimmer . We find that our pupils gain confidence and progress quickly through our nationally recognised STA award scheme for babies and the ASA Learn to Swim Pathway for the older children.
Children are grouped according to their age as well as ability and confidence level. Please provide as much information as you can about your child’s ability when you book so that we can do our best to group them appropriately. Please note that we don’t teach children beyond ASA Stage 5 as our pool is more suitable for younger non swimmers. There is lots more information in our FAQ’s and on the children’s booking page, please see the menu to the left.
For the babies swimming lessons the emphasis is on fun and games so they learn and develop confidence, safety techniques and water skills through play. We sing lots of songs and use plenty of colourful toys. A parent or carer needs to accompany the baby in the pool . Babies are welcome to join classes from 8 weeks old. Please also see our page called the benefits of baby swimming
In our adult swimming lessons the adults benefit from being in small supportive groups in the peaceful and private surroundings of our own luxurious hot pool where they can receive plenty of support, advice and guidance from the teacher in the water.
We also offer intensive courses of lessons in the school holidays for children over the age of 4. It’s a great way to kickstart swimming and you will jump to the top of the list for our regular weekly classes if you then wish to continue.
Please use the swimming lesson menu to the left for more information
regarding dates and times of sessions as well as online booking forms.
